Movie Premiere at TrollbeadsFEST! 2011

Trollbeads reached out to the publishing company that wrote the Trollbeads Coffee Table Book and asked if they would make a movie as well.

The result is a stunning 10 minute Coffee Table Book Movie about the history, designers and family behind Trollbeads.

Monday,July 4th: We have just received word that Kim Buck will be here from Denmark for out Trollbeads Fest 2011!!!

Kristi Denning returns to TrollbeadsFEST!

Kristi Denning, the 2010 People’s Bead Winner is coming back to TrollbeadsFEST! again this year! While you get to meet her then, I’ve asked her to tell us a little about herself and here’s what she’s shared with us:

I have loved animals, of all shapes and sizes, since I was a small child. I am fascinated by the adaptations living creatures develop to help cope with their specialized environments. I can spend hours in observation of the most minute creatures. Some of my earliest memories are of searching the garden for snails so I could watch them crawl over my hands.

Art has been a hobby for my entire family. I tend to dabble in many types of projects. I string jewelry, draw, color, photography, design with flowers and in the garden.

Trollbeads have become a great love for me. My first interest in Trollbeads was the fact that I could get my favorite animals on a bracelet. And not just the animals you find in a zoo but also the creatures you find in fairy stories. My first, and still favorite, Trollbead is the Lucky Dragon.

Since winning People’s Bead 2010 I have met many Trollbeads enthusiasts. I have never in my life met so many people who go out of their way to be kind to each other. Trollbeads collectors are like a family, meet another Trollie and you have a friend for life. I feel so privileged and proud to be a part of that.

TrollbeadsFEST! 2011

Our second annual TrollbeadsFEST! will be Friday, September 23rd and Saturday, September 24th. It’s shaping up to be an even greater event than last year! The closer we get the more excited I become. TrollbeadsFEST! hours are 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

You’ll have the opportunity to meet Eske Storm, Trollbeads Viking Designer! He will be signing the coffee table book “Trollbeads: An Icon of Jewelry Design” so bring your copy with you or buy one at the event. We will also be offering autographed Bead cards. Purchase one of his Trollbeads and we’ll have a special card created just for that bead and Eske can write a personal message for you.

We will also have Kristi Denning joining us again. She is the 2010 People’s Bead Award winning artist and she will be signing her “Ice Bear” special presentation cards. The “Ice Bear” is a very special bead so lif you don’t have one you can look forward to having Kristi signing a card for you!

Trollbeads is supplying us with a Glass bead artist so we will have a chance to watch the mysterious process take place and it is breathtaking!

This year we will have a table just for Retired Trollbeads. One thing about doing something the first time…you learn how you can improve!

There will be a table just for Trollbeads Products (everything other than jewelry). From the coffee table book “Trollbeads:An Icon in Jewelry Design”, the Trollbeads Jewelry Box and other Trollbeads goodies!

Our 2011 TrollbeadsFEST! gift bag will be even better than 2010’s! The value of the gifts will be more than double the ticket price!

Trollbeads Fest Activities:

Friday, Sept.23rd come to Rogers Gallery in Mattapoisett and meet or catch-up with your fellow collectors. We are offering a light lunch between 12-2. Come and see our gallery’s display of Trollbeads which is one of the biggest in the country!

Friday, Sept 23rd 5-7 PM: Cocktail Party at Rogers Gallery. We will be having fund raising raffles with special Trollbeads and for the first time we’ll hold some fun contests! We will be serving hors d’oeurves and wine. Maddog our Troll competitive buddy from Wisconsin brings his incredible Wisconsin cheeses and his outrageously good sausage (of which he promises isn’t from road kill). You might need to fight for this so make sure you wear the right shoes. He’s even bringing his drunk cherries again so watch out! For the first time this year he is bringing something new and very special!
Mingle with many other like-minded Trollies from all over the country…and beyond. Trollbeads designer Eske Storm from Denmark will be attending the party along with other Trollbeads people…

Saturday, September 24th - The Event Begins!

10:00 AM to 5:00 PM - A great selection of Unique beads will be available to all Trollbeads Fest attendees. I have been squirreling away some beauties and plan on getting a lot more in!

Rogers Gallery/Trollbeads Gallery’s Trollbeads Museum will be on view on Saturday at the event. Even more extensive than last year you will be intrigued to see the many retired Trollbeads. This year I promise to have a guide to all the beads!

Lunch will be served buffet style in the Vineyard Room, downstairs from the event.

2:00 PM in the Vineyard Room (lunch room) there will be a preview of the Trollbeads movie along with Trollbeads CEO Peter Aagaard and other speaking.

Fantasy Necklace Learning Station: Visit with our Trollbeads reps as they show you new ideas to use your Trollbeads with your Fantasy Necklace.

Cataloging your Trollbeads- This is something new this year and it’s something we all need to do but don’t have a method or the organizational skills required but it is so important to do! We don’t like to think about losing our beads but it happens and if it does you’ll have a record. It helps with insurance and with your memory.

Eske Storm, Trollbeads Viking Designer

Eske Storm graduated as a Goldsmith from Hertz & Jakobsen in Copenhagen, Denmark and from the School of Arts in Tasco, Mexico. He received a bronze medal in 1995 in the Danish Art & Craft competition and opened his own store in 2001 in downtown Copenhagen next door to the Trollbeads head office. His customers come from places as diverse as the Royal Palace to the free City of Christiania.

“I like to work in a realistic universe – you could call it a typical Danish design universe but maybe it really is in fact my own personal universe. My inspiration comes mainly from my travels around the world and my meeting with local tribal cultures. I’m strongly influenced by old Nordic mythology. You could call what I design space-viking jewelry”.

“It has been a very natural process for me to work within the Trollbeads universe. I carved my own first bead in Greenlandic soapstone when I was 6-7 years old, at the same time I carved my first miniature elephant, which today has developed into the Elephant Lock”.
